Invitation to participate Under the Auspices of the European Parliament
"Young European of the Year 2002"
We are loking for young people from Europe between the ages of 18 and 28 who have served with dedicatin in an honorary capacity the promotion of understanding between nations and/or European Integratin and in the process have achieved exemplary success: Young people who have learned to act with initiative, personal commitment and a sense of responsibility thus showing they are prepared to grasp the opportunities of our time in forging peaceful coexistence in a Europe of diversity. It is not a question here of fully-fledged careers. With this prize the Heinz-Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe wishes to reward annually a young European for his/her previous above-average commitment to fostering understanding and the union of Europe. At the same time it wants to encourage and motivate these young people to continue to champion these ideals.
The sum donated for the prize is € 5.000. The amount is intented to finance a half-year practical training period with a member of the European Parliament or another European organisation but also for a realisation of a project which promotes European accord.
